Terry McCarl set sail from a stout field of Outlaw Sprints to get the $5,000 win at Huset’s Speedway Sunday night.
McCarl started outside the opening row for the 25 lap event that included bonus money from Bolte’s Roll-Off Service and Octane Ink. The Country Builders Construction was fresh off the win the previous night with the National Sprint League at the Knoxville Raceway. The win marks the 96th time the Altoona, Iowa driver has placed an Outlaw Sprint Car in victory lane at Huset’s.
Australian Jordyn Brazier was second ahead of Austin McCarl. Tim Kaeding charged from eleventh to take fourth ahead of quick timer Dusty Zomer.
Robby Wolfgang charged to the lead of the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop IMCA RaceSaver sprint car feature on lap 7. Wolfgang motored to his second win of the year ahead of Shane Fick, Ben Waxdahl, Dalton Johnson and Casey Abbas.
The first three laps of the Micro Sprint feature had three different leaders. Brady Hall led the opening lap, then Nick Kirkegaard took the top spot before Trey Thesenvitz nabbed the lead. Thesenvitz would take his #53 to his second win of the 2015 season ahead of Brandon Buysse who scored the win the previous week. Point leader Chris Breen moved from eighth on the field to finish third.
Gary Brown Jr. was a man on a mission in the Bolte’s Roll-Off Service Street Stock feature. The Brandon, South Dakota driver started seventh on the grid and was able to take the lead from Craig Hanisch with just two laps to go. Darrin Korthals made a last lap pass to finish in second.
Michalob Voeltz snatched the lead of the hobby stock feature with just two circuits remaining. The Madison, South Dakota, driver would go from there to his first career Huset’s victory. Shane Mueller was second ahead of Chad Kuhnert.
