“No Bull”…Carson McCarl Tackles Kansas City This Weekend!
(Bill W) December 10, 2009 – Carson McCarl of Altoona, Iowa will be in action this weekend in his 600cc Micro-Sprint at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. Carson will compete in both the wing and non-wing divisions.
McCarl will team with Nebraskan Jim Clifford of Clifford Cycle Racing Engines and pilot the #71 machine. Their efforts will be sponsored by Dean Field Farms, DeBerg Concrete, Burnett Rock & Landscaping, Phil & Vivian, Pace Chassis and Hoosier Tires.
Carson spent much of 2009 teaming with Clifford at Wavelink Raceway Park in Waverly, Nebraska on Sunday nights. His efforts at the facility included a fifth place finish in the season-ending Jake Ita Memorial on October 3.
This will mark Carson’s first attempt at the Micro’s without a wing, however, he competed at last year’s Micro event at Kemper. Father Terry McCarl says, “It was good experience for Carson there last year, but we didn’t have Jim Clifford helping out. He is going to be a great asset for Carson this time. We’re excited about it. I don’t get to see him run that often, so I’m most excited about that aspect.”
Carson’s participation will start Saturday night when Micro and Non-wing Micro practice and heats take place. The features will be on Sunday.
Next week, TMAC will be running in the “Twas the Midgets Before Christmas” event at Kemper. He will team with Wayne Simmons.
